Time to change Carrier?

We have just been informed by CityLink that they are increasing our surcharge from 5.5% to 6.75%.

Over the last few months we have had increasing problems of parcels not being delivered and overcharging on invoices.

We use MyHermes for parcels that do not have to be there next day, and have had no problems at all!.

Could anyone recommend a reliable carrier? I know there are probably horror stories with most, but would still like your feedback.

Many thanks
Terry

As you say, all carriers will have good and bad stories. We've just moved to City Link from UK Mail due to overcharging on invoices. UK Mail offer a good service, but their invoices are very often wrong and prices change without being told. Have to say so far City Link have been very good and we do not get any surcharge.

We use citylink, and haven't had any issues to date.

Funny thing is I've asked for prices to send large, but light weight parcels over the country, and had quotes £20+ only to get the invoice and it show £9.00.

Although the other day I did have to drop something off at the local depot, and spent 20minutes stood outside waiting for someone to let me in! Ended up calling their office to ask someone to check my parcel in!

I think we are going see rise in parcel rates over the next 18 months. The parcel companies are not making the profits that companies of these sizes should be .This is reflected in the fact that Citylink was sold for a pound a few weeks ago !!

Its the same advice though shop around speak to the reps from all of them . They are all very much the same but if your organisation likes to get the product to the customer next day with a late order the company that collects the latest may just edge it for you
