Hi,

I am in the start-up stages of my business and have a website coming in the new year, but in the meantime I am trying to advertise business to business within the local area, does anybody have any tips?

Would be useful to know what type of business you are, if its a business to business marketing your looking for, well worth getting involved in a local networking event, as you would get to meet a lot of other businesses in the area etc

Totally agree re networking - there are an astonishing number of events running out there.

ive been looking at going to a few of the marketing events to build up a few contacts. the business will be based around a website generating work for self employed workers

Luke you need to verify your email address from the email we sent to you when you registered. Until you do all your posts will sit in moderators approval waiting to be manually approved (like your first two posts) I have approved this second post but you need to verify the email addy

Hi Luke,

Even if your website isn't ready you can advertise your business on Google Places using keywords your potential customers are likely to use when searching for your services. This is great for building your profile locally and then you can update the information once your website is completed.

Equally you can start to build up your business profile on social media websites such as setting up a business page on Facebook and link to the profiles on your Google Places page.

Most people search online now even for local businesses so it is worth setting these up as soon as possible.
