Starting a company

Hi, I was wondering if I started a company with one name. Would I be able to trade under different business names as some of the markets that I will be trading in will be entirely different so the name may not be relevant. Obviously my plan would be to file the tax for all the different businesses through the one company.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thank you.

By 'company' do you mean registered ltd company, or you sole trading?

Either way you need to make clear on communications who in the end your clients are trading with.

Either your own name and details if sole trader, If you are sole trading you may need to inform the tax people of all your trading names, I am not sure about that.

or a ltd company. This still has to declare its directors, but not necessarily give their home addresses if different to the company address.

And then you can trade under as many names as you want.

Thank you for the reply they have been really helpful.

Yes by company I mean registered limited company.

So for example if I were to put my company name at the bottom of websites, on invoices and receipts as well as the trading name would that be making it clear?
