Some feedback please?!

I've just designed my own website for my new business and would appreciate any feedback regarding the site. Specifically i'd like to know whether users without Macromedia Flash player can access the top menu properly, and whether there are automated scripts that detect this, refering those users to the non-flash homepage. Does anyone know of any sites that provide template online application form scripts that I can use for the site? Also, i'd be interested to hear from Netscape 7.0 users to see if they have any compatibility issues.

Looks ok in Firefox - there is a typo in the flash though - Loading is spelt loadig

I'm also using Firefox and yes it looks fine.

As for template application forms, look at things such as "mailto" and "formmail" scripts. They'll do the basics for, it doesnt sound like you need anything fancy there.

Hi - we use (and own) www.ecust.co.uk

You can create online forms using this online software - the small business version is free.

The good thing is it records the forms online and allows you to mail out people according to their answers.

It does opt-in accounts only so you have to be happy with that scenario if you use it. Some people don't like it - personally I think it builds a credible list

Typos - I've also seen commission, frequently and receive spelt wrongly - as a tuition site you should get it proof read as a matter of urgency.

However I would also say it is too wordy and you should reduce all that to the salient points that people will be looking for when they land.

Your subject list would be better if each subject was a text link to the page about the courses available.

Without a structured menu layout the visitor really has to hunt around to find the link that is appropriate to them.

News and events is a challenging area to include unless you really anticipate a lot of news and events happening. I assume this is a test site and those January events are just samples.

Further into the site the large dense blocks of tiny text make uncomforatable reading and would be extremely hard for anyone with literacy problems. Even if you do plough through it the typos are very off putting.

My advice, which I really hope you will seriously think about, is that no matter how pretty your site, how sweet the jingle and calming the clouds, it would be far better to spend time on making it web readable with consideration of the people who are looking for additional education whose literacy may not be the greatest.

In addition to making it better for your users it will be more search engine friendly.

The sad thing is that no one takes a blind bit of notice of what I think despite that fact I have 5 years experience of successfully selling online and have won real National awards for my website (not to mention being a World Record Holder).
