Sole trading names question from newb

I am new to this and here is my hypothetical situation. I want to act as a sole trader with some websites but get all the legalities/tax sorted from the get go so expansion will be simplest.

If I were to start an online shop like on eBay so I can sell products and a web design website so I can sell services, also a social forum or blog website so I can generate small money through advertising, how would I have to represent myself?

Do I create a main name like WestDesign and run them all as projects by that name or could I give them all separate names like MyShop, WebBuilder and BlogLand? How must I legally integrate these with a sole trader status? Would I have to do "John Doe trading as WestDesign"? Or "MyShop is a project by WestDesign"? Or even "MyShop is a project by John Doe trading as WestDesign"? Or just "MyShop"? or just "WestDesign"? And could I brand everything on the website as MyBlog but then have one of the above in small print in Terms?*

Sorry about this being an awkward question but I am new to this so I want to make sure I am acting in the law.*

It really is up to you.

You can call your business or multiple ventures what you like.

For tax purposes all the income/expenditure for your year end will be reportable to your name as a sole trader not the business names.

You may want to add J.Smith trading as...somewhere but that is about it I reckon.
