Hi,
Im thinking of shipping leather handbags to the UK. I have found a trusted supplier and we have discussed a small sample order. They are going to get back to me with shipping costs ...but I would also like to be able to compare for myself..ie other shipping methods, companies, rates etc. So initially, costing , tracking ..logistics of it all is what im after. I have the info on duties and customs ..

I have looked at container charges and had some quotes ....and Ive heard you can ship part container loads...

So if anyone is out there shipping small quantities from India to the UK and can give me some ideas I would really appreciate any info...

Cheers ...

Hi there,

I don't know about India specifically but was looking at doing something similar from Vietnam. I spoke to John Wheeler John.wheeler at Advantage Worldwide (google it, I'm not allowed to put URLs yet) when I knew nothing about it and he was incredibly helpful. We haven't ended up using his services yet but we still got loads of great advice, he's very knowledgeable. So you might want to speak to him. I have no association with Advantage Worldwide or John, was just impressed with how helpful he was.

You can definitely ship part container loads, a freight forwarder will be able to tell you all you need to know.

Hope that helps!

Isaac

We use AAI forwarding in Shipley (Google them - you want Steve Daines (Director)or....arghh, forgotten that office managers name!) for anything from a box at 30kg to containers; very helpful, very friendly, and on the ball......If you call them , tell them that Kate from Karate Kid sent you - might not help, but at least they will know they are valued by us!
