I've recently set up a website despite having no experience whatsoever...:| Everything was fine but now it's started earning a small amount I'm at a loss. Do I have to register the site as a company or do I wait until the following year? Also, I have no terms&conditions/privacy/copyright statements - how do I go about this? And Is there anything else I should be aware of? Any advice much appreciated :)

Thanks for that. Do you know if you have to employ a solicitor to create bespoke terms & conditions etc? And if so should cease to continue with the site until this is sorted? /Are the many websites that lack them breaking the law by recieving payments for a service? :| And if so is registering as a company a prerequisite for this? :|

Nah - just treat your customers really well - give them some terms and conditions to keep them happy and which you can both refer back to - just get them from elsewhere and adapt them and then all will be fine.

Don't get bogged down by it all because there is another and then another and another regulation.

If your begining to earn a bit then it may be time to go legit with the tax side. They will be looking at you if you have a web site.

Hi,

You seem quite worried about this? If you really need some sound free advice make an appointment to talk with a business advisor at your local Business Link (http://www.businesslink.gov.uk).

I've used them several times over the years and they have always been really helpful and understand, I can't think of a better way to get your head around anything to do with business :)
