Is there anyone who can provide some information / advice on the pros and cons of doing this yourself or using a company like biz-in-a-box.co.uk (this is the only one I am aware of) to register and handle everything for you?

Thanks in advance

Vicky

    Hi Vicky,
To be honest, if all you want is a Limited company to be dormant then there is nothing to it and you could set it up yourself on any one of many company formation websites (including mine).
The whole process should take no more than 5 minutes.

What you must remember and be aware of is that each year you will need to file a Non-Trading Annual Return (again can be done on my website) and a form DCA, which is your dorman set of annual accounts. Finally, the Inland Revenue will write to you at the registered office address of the company asking you what you are going to be doing in business, simply reply to that with the words "Non trading company" written across the "Started Trading" box on the form.

That's it, you then have a dormant company so to speak.
