seo software

Although there are programs that offer site analysis and reviews, I do not know of any that will point out mistakes, else I am sure the world would be using it frequently.

I know you mention it, but I wouldn't concentrate on worrying about PR.

What kind of work have you done so far for your seo campaign?

When you say mistakes, I assume you mean particular things that you haven't covered/have done incorrectly in regards to SEO.

There's a lot of SEO reviewers, that give you scores and rankings for your website, and then tell you what you could do to achieve a better score, however, this only works for on-page SEO, as it would be almost impossible to calculate any form of score for off-page SEO as there's just far too many variables.

TrafficTravis, I believe has this functionality. There's a free version of it available via cNet/Download.com I think.

I guess when I say mistakes I mean things that I may have done that google may punish me for.

For example my last website was made using a website builder and I had a coloured background repeating tile and behind that a coloured page. The text for the website was white, but a website analyzer (can't remember the name) informed me that the page colour behind the background wasn't coloured but was white like the text and google would object to that and think I was doing black hat.

Anyway, I fixed that and my seo methods for that old site was to get as many links as i could to my website, I had a few pages, (it wasnt easy to update or add too, but looked good), I had a link page where I traded links with other similar sites. Doing this got me a pr of 1 pretty quickly, but I wanted more pr and better seo results, so I replaced it with wordpress.

I have tons of new pages, I have a news blog, a food guide blog and think its good content and good internal linking, sitemap etc - all good I hope and instead of one big links page I have two smaller ones, but am still stuck at pr1 and wonder if I've made an error, I've seen websites with pr 2 with very few backlinks!?

You are serving a tiny niche here and already number one in Google for Dog Walking Bishopton. What exactly are you trying to achieve?

I think it could be that there is no real market for what you are offering?

.

With the economy it's just highly competitive like with most businesses and I just want to get an edge.

But as I was saying, you are already number one for your main keyphrase. You are also number one for dog walking renfrewshire and you have a nice website with good content. SEO software will not make it any better. :)

I use the Google Keyword Tool (free) for researching keyword ideas and estimating volumes of searches (mainly with phrase or exact match, not broad).

Traffic Travis (both free and paid versions) is great for analysing the difficaulty of keywords, looking at SEO factors on competing sites and pretty much all SEO related tasks actually. In my opinion this is the best all round tool.

SEO Quake toolbar (free) is good for researching competion as you brows the Internet and quickly checking backlinks, PR, etc. for competing sites.

BacklinkWatch.com is good for analysing backlinks (free also). Link Assist (free and paid versions) is a great tool for this too.

I've heard Majestic SEO and Market Samurai are good (both paid), but cannot say from experience.

mugatea,
If you are not sure about what's right and what's wrong for your SEO, why not get a good SEO guide first, just to see the full picture? There is a free SEO book in pdf available online, called "Google SEO Starter Guide", it's an easy and enjoyable read.
As for SEO tools, I'd recommend website auditor - to identify on-page problems, and seo spyglass - to see how many backlinks you already have on your site or analyse what backlinks your competitors have (if that's necessary).

IBP ranking software is a proven SEO software tool that will get your website on the first result page of Google, Bing, Yahoo and other search engines.

I used that and have a score of 99% for my site and keyword, with a 90 day guarantee

although an informative tool it takes just what your top 10 in your niche are doing and gets you to apply it with some intelligent thinking thrown in.

it wont get you top 10 but it can help improve your on page and help you spam webmasters begging for links
