search facility

As a newcomer I am enjoying the forum but find the member listing and search facility frustrating.
I may want to find someone in my area or my business or in another business that is of interst to me but I don't find that easy to do - may be it is just me learning how to find my way around but can we make it more friendly? And as for the member listing! I am still learning!
Maybe I will just stick to the interesting bit in the forums !

The member listing bit is already something I am aware of and trying to find better ways to do it, and have it searchable!
