Hi everyone.
My name is James and I've just acquired premises in Durham city centre for my first barbershop.
I thought it would be a good idea to join a forum and get some practical advice and guidance from other business owners with the view that in a years time I can help other new people out when they are stressed and petrified of the first year ahead!
So I will be the only person on the premises to start with, keeping the overheads as low as possible, then hopefully once the students get back in October I will be settled enough and be slightly more savvy with the administration to be able to look at becoming an employer and look at hiring an apprentice.
I have a fairly decent following as I voluntarily teach a break dance class for the students, go to a big church with a lot of people crossing over with 3 or 4 other churches so that will keep me ticking over until the Durham university students (my main target market) get back.
Thanks for reading and look forward to hearing from the "elders" or wisest people on the forum!
Kind thanks.
James. AKA Rusty.
