Hi Desmond,
thank you for your replay.
I did an art project for a British Charity with street kids in Brazil. I concluded the project with several pieces that will be shown in an Art Gallery here in London. The Charity is very happy with the artwork and wants to reproduce 2 pieces as posters to generate more revenue. Neither of us have done anything like this before but I know that this is definetely not part of de licence agreed in our contract. Any suggestions on how I should take this forward?

Thank you very much.

There's little point asking us here - talk to them, explain your position and negotiate! :)

What were the terms of your contract?

If they're a charity, why not sit back, relax and know that your work is helping others? Still, I see where you're coming from. Let us know how you get on. :)

The reason I asked the forum was to find out if anyone knew what is common practice for this type work. With this information in hand we could then negotiate.

The contract doesn't include multiple reproductions of the artwork created.

Many of my clients are educational institutions and charities and my fees for these clients reflect that, but I can't afford to work for free.
