Research: How helpful to you were established companies?

I am in the planning/research/DSDM Feasibility Assessment stage of my idea.

I need to ask small banks (not the main 8 banks) for some information about why their customers bank with them as opposed to with the main banks.

If you had to carry out research using established companies, how helpful to you were they?

If you want a fluffy pointless answer then ask the smaller banks, if you wanted to carry out meaningful research then it may be better to ask their customers
