Hi
Long time no visit!
I'm stumped with this so I thought I'd come here to ask.
1. Does anyone know how / where to go to see about registering for MWST (German VAT) for a business not based in Germany.
2. does anyone have any experience of being registered for VAT in Germany and in the UK and if so do you run your accounts separately for the two or try to do them both via your accountancy software and if so how does this work?
3. how easy have you found the ongoing paperwork and organisation of a foreign VAT account. would you recommend that it was handled by a fluent German speaker with no VAT / Accounts knowledge or by someone wiht lots of Vat / Accounts knowledge but can't speak a word of German. Or should i go to the expense / difficulty of trying to find a multi lingual German Accountant to handle the whole thing for me?
4. I have the UKTI people coming in next week, are these nitty gritty questions within their remit or are they there for the more fluffy end of sourcing customers and trade missions?
