Registering as self-employed as director

Hi, i have just created a new limited company on the formations company site and was wondering if this meant i was required to register on hmrc as self employed also?

But you’re not self employed.

It might be that you need to register for self assessment because you have income not taxed at source, however.

You would be an employee of the company. It would pay you by way of wages. Or perhaps not pay you at all - your choice.
You register for self assessment. HMRC may at some point decide you no longer need to do self assessment forms.
