Questions for IT Managers/Decision Makers

Hi - I work for a marketing company. We are going to pitch for some business for an IT company, producing literature that will be sent to IT Managers/Directors etc to sell products and services, so I am doing a bit of research as to what information you would find most useful.

I'm well aware that you guys probably get bombarded with stuff like this every day (from the likes of Dell, IBM, HP etc etc). My questions are:

What makes you read anything as opposed to throwing it straight in the bin/hitting delete?
What every-day IT issues do you face that you feel these companies/marketing materials are missing?
Do you prefer offline comms (eg catalogues, direct mail etc) or online (including banners, emails, online ads)
Do you just want to see product specs and prices, or do you want a solution to a problem?

If you have 5 mins to answer any of the above - or if there is anything else you would like to mention, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks, Os
