hi i am importing goods from china.( steel brackets) i thought i had it all sorted as i was going to register for vat as i understand it i have to pay 20% vat once the goods arrive at a uk port. but after visiting my accountant tonight she said she has several clients who import from outside the eu and the goods are 0 %vat. so she now say there no need to reg for vat now. have i got it wrong.
