Just wanted to know if anyone can tell me what software big department store or ecommerce sites use EXCLUDING Interespire, OS Commerce based, Magento, EKM, Actinic.

This is for my own research to see the different solutions out there that
cost £££'s

It's a totally different league compared to the ones you mentioned.

Some of the big companies use a hosted managed solution from Venda. Venda used to display a client list on their website (which included the likes of BT Shop, BBC Shop, Hamleys, Panasonic, Ocado, Focus DIY, Wilkinsons, etc) buit they don't seem to shout about this on their website any more.

Interspire is in total meltdown from all accounts so would keep away from that one. I heard from a client today that their CEO is even blocking his own paid up customers from Twitter when they try to ask him questions.

Tut tut, the non-flash banner version of the venda website doesn't convey this important message. I was previously checking out their site with a browser that has flash disabled (the same browser I use for this forum to avoid the flash ads).

The venda website used to boast of their impressive client list to website visitors regardless of whether the visitor's browser had flash or not.

I think a good chunk of the big ecom sites are custom built. Some groups use the same basic site for many outlets/brands, but start off as a custom solution.

I wouldnt really call it spam. They want something to use to sell items, thats an option. I would agree with you if that link had no relevance to the topic.

For me its got to be Venda and its already mentioned. So got to back Venda they have some real blue chip clientele

Hi All,

I will be taking a close look at Venda. I use Interspire on a few of my site but am worried about them i.e I think their going 100% down the Big Commerce route and will leave us with shoping cart out and not supported.

Anyone here use Venda Personally ?

Spoke to Venda have 2 Versions Enterprise £6000 + a month or partner £49 a month.

Does anyone know who made harrods website ? i like their layout and style a lot
