Hi all I have asked on prestashop but things are a bit slow that way any one any ideas with my question below.

the site keeps getting the site crashing each time we make an update.

this is the message that appears on the home page

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/discdcom/public_html/prestashop/tools/smarty/compile/%W^57D^57D4ABDC%%header.tpl.php on line 65

so I deleted the complie file and reinstalled it, this fixes the site until she makes another update

any suggestion what could be causing it? if i replace the header.tpl file would this effect the site?

thank you

Are you using a custom theme? Have you tried another theme to see if that works? Looks like you have a missing {if} or extra {/if} somewhere in your header.tpl file. You might also have a problem in your Smarty (http://smarty.net), or folder permissions used to cache your template files. When we see these kind of bugs we always recommend our users testing their theme on a clean Prestashop install, and also trying a default theme on their PrestaShop. These steps usually isolate the problem.

Yes I think the steps suggested so far might help.

When you update which set of procedures do you follow?

Prestashop updates are more than just copying the files.

Have you copied your /themes/yourtheme folder to the upgrade folder? Before running the upgrade?

All the best and good luck with your store.
