PayPal SMS Security Key

I spotted this earlier:

Works in the same way as the other on-line banking systems that provided the dongles.

Its been going for quite a while, I remember doing it at the beginning of last year.
Its a pain in the arse, their system kept breaking and you had to confirm all your details again. Too much hassle than its worth.

I wonder why they aren't promoting the PayPal Security Key (keyfob) on that site too.

The keyfob is also similar to the keyfobs that some banks provide, a keyring size device which generates and displays a different security number, and this is also available from PayPal for a one-off fee of £3.

I quite like the idea of the keyfob, rather than the mobile phone solution. In fact, I think it's a pity that the keyfob technology cannot be shrunk down to put inside the credit cards themselves.
