Opinion on Directory

Hello everyone,

I know we all have to advertise our businesses at some point but I know that adspace don't come cheap. I would be grateful for a bit of info on the ff:

1) How and where do you advertise your products/business?
2) What factors do you consider when choosing to advertise with a directory?
3) When using printed directory, would you use a specialised one or a general directory such as Yellow Pages?
4) What results have you received from your current advertisement?
5) What would you like to see in a business diretory ie: extra services, more organised/categorised section etc...?
6) What do you like about the directory you're currently using or advertised at?

Thank you all in advance. Your input will be greatly appreciated.

advertise through natural listings
we do not pay for online directory inclusion, however they are welcome to join our affiliate program and get paid commission
printed directories are not relevant to an online store as used more for local listings
froogle is working pretty well but not driving very much traffic.
some online directories who are affiliates do drive good traffic and earn excellent commission.
avoid places like just 35
I like to pay for results not inclusion with regards to directories.

This may not be wholly applicable to online shops, but here goes anyway:

1) mainly on search engines and shopping directories
2) how much targeted traffic they can send compared to the cost of advertising
3) wouldn't advertise in a printed directory, but would use yellow pages (printed and online) for personal use
4) well, we're still in business...
5) a lot of activity!
6) I can track results in great detail

HTH!

Silly Joke,

Thank you for your response. Much appreciated.

Gary,

Thank you for your email. I understand. I shall post a plea in the forum to see if anyone who's in the trade could maybe give some advice. Thank you so much for your time.
