I've got the perfect newsletter that I put together for my company Mindsheet (use the .biz address). We specialise in helping businesses come up with ideas and taking them to the market. We issue regular newsletters giving advice and assistance and there's a newsletter I wrote that will hopefully give you a good start, called Fast and Lower Cost Ways to Protect Your Inventions. The only problem is I'm new to this forum so can't put a link to it until I've been a bit more active. Go to our website and search under posts with that heading, you should be able to find it.
Let me know what you think and if this is helpful at all.:)

Hi Flare,

The first step you should take is to contact a patent attorney for a consultation.
All the patent firms I know of offer a free consultation. I'm a patent attorney myself at London IP Ltd, and if you'd like a chat feel free to call me 0207 502 6987.

Alternatively you can find a full directory of patent attorneys at the CIPA website.

Good luck!
