Just starting up a pet services business and have clients already booked so pleased with the response.

I have been looking for a field to rent for ages for training of my own dogs (gundog, field trials) and have never managed to find one.

Today I have been to see the most perfect fields to rent will be great for exercising non recall dogs, training my own/clients group sessions etc.

But has come at the wrong time just starting up - but its to good to not have.

Can I claim the rent or % against my tax return??

Thanks

The rent would be a perfectly acceptable business expense IMHO and 100% allowable just so long as the field was used 100% for the dog business.

It is not an "agricultural" operation so change of use planning permission would doubtless be needed, similar to that needed for equestrian use.
