Notifications intermittent

I seem to be having an issue with notifications when a thread I have contributed to gets new posts. Sometimes they appear in the list when I click my username, sometimes there is a number against my username indicating the number of notifications and sometimes neither happens. evn if someone has quoted my post in their answer.

Oh I do love investigating intermittent issues .
Is there anything consistent about them, like same people who have posted, or threads you are watching v's thread you are not but have been tagged in?

Interesting... I just had the same issue. A number next to my icon implying I had notifications, but no new notifications showing in the list. Something must be happening at the moment with the developers...

There doesn't seem to be anything consistent. This (and 3 others) appeared on the list but there was no number showing. This is a direct reply to me, the others were messages on threads I have replied to. I don't necessarily need anything doing about it, just thought you may like to add it to your list.

Just so you don't think you are on your own had same thing here. I also noticed this morning after wondering why I was not seeing all that I normally see on "Recent Posts" that my selections from the right hand box which had been selected and saved as my default settings had all vanished. I have now reset...... you can tell it must be Friday
