No idea where to go from here to be honest

T

TosChecker

Hey everybody!
My name's Harry and I've founded a website called Toschecker. It can be found at: Toschecker.com
My site basically prevents people from being scammed by companies: they paste in the terms of service agreement and it will return highlighted "high priority" words to them. Go try it out now if you'd like.

Done? Ok. :p The thing is - where do I go from here? It's not well known at all, I've got no funding whatsoever, I don't really know how best to get my site well known and to make some revenue from it.

If anyone could offer me any support or help, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks, all the best,
Harry

Hi Harry - and welcome to the forum.

Its a nice idea, bit one that needs developing a little bit more: all it appears to do is highlight a few words, presumably against a set library of words?

For example, I put out ToS in and it highlighted the word "claim", I put in the ToS from another site and it highlighted "property" and "remove" but in all cases there was no context or explanation as to why these words were highlighted.

S, first up, here are two steps you might want to consider, one easy, one less so:

  1. Add more explanation to your page as to what the site is doing, and why highlighting certain words might flag problems with ToSs.
  2. Try to understand the meaning of words you are highlighting in context.

Hey,

The concept is great but it can be a victim of its own success. It will take a lot of work to make as useful as it needs to be. Just highlighting words isn't quite good enough, you will need to develop the website so the application can spot certain word strings/combinations. I would also advise you to add a disclaimer as some people may read ToS and solely rely on the website to spot errors and solution like this can never be 100%. All-in-all if you are willing to put in the work, this could be a hit.

I also agree with what @Jeff FV said.

But really, there is a lot of potential in this website. Just make sure its tight and reliable.

Good luck with it!!
