Newsletter notifications

A nice, new feature. Whenever a newsletter is released users get a notification in case they don't subscribe via email.

However, this newsletter is missing from the archive. Maybe it needs some automation? Pinging @Ethan39 for awareness.

Yeah, the archive is a manual update that needs to be done by a member of the team.

Believe it or not there isn't a way to automate it. Mailchimp doesn't offer the means.

I'm in the process of creating a series of monthly tasks that need to be done within one of our productivity tools. This is one of them, so hopefully we'll be updating the archive monthly as a minimum.

I'll go and get this updated within the next few minutes.

Surely, Mailchimp must have heard of webhooks in this day and age?

There must be a way to configure this to be automated.

Mailchimp has an API that allows you to categorise campaigns into folders (which is how the archive is constructed), but the problem we face is that not all campaigns sent from our account are UKBF newsletters.

So the limitation is not so much with Mailchimp, but that the solution Mailchimp can provide would have us parsing email subjects to determine whether or not it is a newsletter.

Not an ideal solution. The best way forward is simply to have the team organise them as they produce them or on a regular basis. This will start happening eventually, but we have more pressing stuff to work towards at the moment
