Need some guidance regarding a new business bank account.
I have registered the Ltd co using my home address, applied with Lloyds online for a BB account, application complete, Lloyds phoned and told me to go to my local branch with my ID, I just went in there earlier today with my passport and a ulitily bill for my home address (reg address for ltd co)

The bank refuses to accept my home address for the account and states they need a utility bill in the company's name.

I am in process of signing a lease for a shop but will take about 3 weeks to complete then it might take another 2-3 weeks to get the bill through post.

So is it a norm for banks not to accept my reg address for the account? or should I try elsewhere?

No it's not the norm. The bank assistant you spoke to hasn't a clue what they're doing. You should have no problem in proving your home address and personal identity to open a company bank account for a company registered at your home with you as the only director/shareholder. It's pretty basic/common stuff that any bank worker with a brain would know how to do!

I have applied with HSBC at the local branch today and they did not have a problem with the address, they just told the current address will be taken as trading address and then we can change it when the shop premises lease is signed.

Llyods bank tries to make it very complicated and are not willing to help.
