new search engine cuil.com

Anyone seen the article on sitepro about this new search engine then?
I have just a little turn and not that impressed form a users pint of view.
I don't like the way the results read like a magazine, takes up too uch time to find things and i HATE the fact you can't have a uk search only!
I can't see how the average joe bloggs will use these rather than google, or am I missing something here?:|

The best thing I've heard about it was the way they got through $100m of start up funding by doing serious entitlement spending*. Better than work. Cuil even.
Every other report has been underwhelming.

Everyone tried it the day it lauched and the general consensus was that it was a flop - a real flop.

The lesson is - even if you have the best marketing team the world has ever seen (they managed to get the story into every major media outlet it seems) and some USPs that seem to fit with what people are concerned about (mostly privacy), it won't help one tiny bit if your service is rubbish.

They really did seem to have done no testing at all - I searched for a few film related topics and got nothing but wave upon wave of those Amazon affiliate sites that google banished years ago.
