New Category i think

I know i am knew to this forum but i have been a member of other forums for years so i feel my suggestion is qualified.

I have gone on some threads especially the marketing pr and they are self marketing threads advertising their business, this is not a discussion or and advice thread so should there be a business proposal or business search category that these go in, it saves us advice searchers a lot of time.

I understand that this is a business forum and we can do B2B networking here but there should be a place for it, forums should be 100% advice no advertising.

Do you agree or disagree?

If so lets get one up and running.

regards
Iain

Hi,

If it hadn't been for a little advertising from people on here, i'd have missed out on some good products and services, as long as it isn't spam I don't mind a little self promotion :D

Plus I like to know what businesses people do and how they are doing..I say let it stay, if it's just a little now and again :D

I agree with you Jayne, but possibly it should have a place of it's own so that we can keep tabs on business's.

3 out 5 links i went on were just plain adverts for their own business that's all.

The problem with creating a forum for advertising is that it will get lots of posters in there just posting adverts for their business, but the majority of spammers will pay no regards to the forum and will still continue to post blatant adverts about their business in the rest of the forums.

To be fair, I think it will be a waste of time and the moderators will still have just as much spam to delete from the other forums.

mmmm I am not sure what you are reading but I and several others post advice on that section nearly every day.

We do not get paid for it even though it is our core service and one of the reasons we do it is because other experts in other fields have helped us achieve the success that we are fortunate to be achieving i.e. a win win scenario.

I also do not thank a spammer would post in a section clearly aimed at spam and hence give the moderators even more work to do. Yes a few get through but then nothing is perfect and for us the moderators do a great job.

There is so much good on here. What's the prob with a little advert? Just click it away!
In the few months I've been a member I've supported a few businesses offering a great product at a great price; I've purchased £200 plus of stationery, approx £500 in fees for Trade Mark registration, received advice that's enabled me to obtain Quality Certification at an extraordinary price and I could go on. There's a Grand that's gone to UKBF members, but to me it's worth heaps more than that.

Some advice that is given for free would cost £100's plus on an appointment basis.

Obviously moderation is the key in advertising one's business, but as stated, if we don't moderate, it will be moderated for us!!

Now while I'm here, I'm doing some great deals on 6ft closeboard fences . . .
    Cheers, Nigel
