Need help on playing DVD

Hi everybody,

I have been trying to play DVD on my computer for the last three days. I have separate DVD and CD-ROM drives on my computer having XP Home operating system. I have installed Window Media Player 10 with necessary codecs. When I started Media Player and insert the DVD in the computer, at the bottom of the interface of the Player, only words like 'Playing' and 'Title 2 of Chapter 1' keep on flashing but nothing happens on the screen. I have also tried Real Player but it still not working. I shall appreciate any solution and the advice to it.

Hazarding a guess, is the DVD you are trying to play Region 1 or 3? it may be possible that your DVD player/Software will only play Region 2 (UK) ? (I think I have got the region numbers the right way round).

Thanks for the response. I am toally unaware of the region of the DVD. However, I can play it now with WinDVD but not with Media Player. Any idea how to play it with Media Player?

Try something like power DVD
