My Facebook page has 88 likes :( aha

Unless you're a talented clickbaiter who goes viral with every joke or thought you're going to struggle to build a huge audience and make tons of money on Facebook for your business these days without paying. They have significantly reduced the 'spreadability' of company type posts and sometimes your audience will see less than 10%... some even report 5% of what you do.

Honestly though our Facebook page is dead, we don't use it... and it's generated more leads for the business than likes.

Give an ad a shot on there, test with $100, make sure the landing page you send people to is suitable (some kind of lead generation download works well for B2B for example...) and make money.

I'm happy to share some more specific tips if you share more details about what you're actually hoping to achieve on there.

88. That's pretty good. What happened to them? I think you should not be focusing too much on generating clicks and likes, but rather be focusing on what people do when they see your content. The important thing is to get them to click to your web site and then to give you their email address. You certainly don't want to be relying on FB for all your future traffic - get the email address then you can contact people at any time, regardless of FB.

I could only find one thing called The New Digital Lifestyle on FB and it had no content, so is there any way you can give us a better way to find you?

I would just try to keep posting regularly, at least once a day if you can. You can link your twitter to your FB feed if you have one. Also, don't include links in every post and try using photos, videos etc to mix it up a bit. Our Facebook page has grown slowly over the years and the reach of posts isn't great any more - you really have to be prepared to pay to boost posts/advertise I think.

Holding a competition offering any value prize can net you a decent amount of followers fairly quickly. Bare in mind that these users may not necessarily be your target market, but for solely increasing your following, this could be one option.

Hi Everyone, I created a fb page some weeks ago and really excited about that, any suggestion on how to get more likes and engagements ? thank you

Hello friend! My suggestion is to post more interesting contents which can attract people's attention. Give them something worthwhile to read about. If you continue to give valuable contents to your prospects, soon you'll be able to gather more followers and eventually you'll have ton's of FB likes than the ones you have now...:)

Hiya,

Firstly decide if your target audience use facebook for your business, or if they can be found lurking elsewhere, no point using Facebook for the sake of it.

Yes, you should post once or twice a day, but with 81 likes I wouldn't post more than that or people will disconnect with you. You mention it is time consuming so perhaps consider Hootsuite or Tweedeck, by using scheduling tools you can share posts at different times and see which times get more engagement and such like. (also look at the way you word things).

Competitions (as someone suggested) are a good idea, but only if you get people that are directly interested in your business - your facebook posts (with no advertising) go out to a small percentage of your followers news feeds, you don't want to waste those posts on people that aren't interested in your business, so it can sometimes be good to have a smaller following.

Hope that helps?

Hazel.

You can run a competition to win something decent like a Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016 model) or £100 worth of scratch cards, and you have to like your page, like the post & share it to enter. Pick winner at random (there's apps for this). Watch them come flocking - competitions work well.

Unfortunately, methods to build page likes quicker aren't free. Another way is to advertise your page on Facebook using PPC. This is good to target those who will be interested in your page - start small and build.

With zero budget for ads and promotion, it'll take a long time.

Write some great content and then use Facebook Ads to generate some likes. Don't buy Likes elsewhere, they'll be worthless junk. You need to grow your likes from Ads targeted at relevant people who will then engage with your content, if it's valuable or interesting to them.

Just having anyone like your site and chasing them by offering prizes is pointless if they are never going to be your customer. We have competitors with more likes than major high street names just because they ran competition after competition offering ipads. I do know for a fact that their sales have not increased at all.
I would just concentrate on keeping your page interesting to your real customers with the odd post and do not worry about chasing pointless likes.

Writing about "great content" is a cheap retort - you can write great content only if you have a true passion about something, and it's usually not enough. You also need to establish the personal style; get links and affiliates. Trade content with your friends, add things tangentially related. I write about fashion, and a lot of my friends are into boardgames - so I could ask them to write about a boardgame tied with fashion!

It is not easy to just boost likes and impressions on your page by only using Facebook.

If you don't have a website then I would recommend writing some content and finding some images to post to your Facebook page. Make sure to include text with relevant keywords with your images. This is so you come up in Facebook search results. The most important part of this method is consistency. If you don't post everyday or at least a few times a week then nobody is going to notice you. Post consistently and you will keep appearing in recent search results for the keywords that you are using. Look at programs such as Hoot Suite to help you manage your posts and plan them ahead of time for automatic posting.

After that is all set up I would venture outside of Facebook. Build a twitter following by sharing relevant content that you find interesting. Occasionally share content from your Facebook to your Twitter so that you can drive followers from one social platform to the other. Be careful not to have the exact same content on all social platforms.

I would eventually get your own website. It does not cost much and is a home base for yourself or your business. Then you can direct all social accounts to your website.

I hope this helps. This information only scratches the surface, there is so much more you can do.

@Nic - Attitude is spot on. There are two ways to increase likes:

1 - Create good content and then boast the post via Facebook ads
2- Create a "like my page" ad that will show up with a like button on your target's news feed, or

Option 1 is great but understand that is is an engagement campaign where an engagement may not be a "like". It could be a click or a share too (which isn't a bad thing).

Option 2 is most ideal for purely building up likes. Of course you will need to test various audiences.

Hope that helps.
