Choosing how to respond to questions or avoiding questions you don't like does little for your credibility.

Is it an accomodation address...I think so.

Have you answered the question...no.

It is a business address, I dont want to give my home address out so that is why I have purchased a business address.

There is a massive difference between a "Business Address" and a service where mail is re-directed.

So you really mean that you work from home and don't want your customers to know how to find you?

Do you have a full-time office, storage, staff or someone who can deal with customer enquires? Do you have a Registered Address for a limited company, but no physical presence in the building?

These things mean a lot to savvy customers.

Yes I have staff

This is a perfect example of what I said earlier, chosing which questions to ask.

Apart from your account stating a Hereford location, your previous posts show IBC Webtech as your business, the address...

GCO Network Service Group
2nd Floor, 145-157 St John Street
London EC1V 4PY
Phone: +44 (0)207 193 5351

If you don't want to be honest, don't expect advice.

I would leave him to it. I think he is saying enough for himself for everyone to come to their own conclusions. He has replied to another post on this forum today stating that he has a number of other ecommerce sites and is giving advice to others about free shipping. He is also, apparently, a web designer. I'll have to bear him in mind next time we need some design work done! :)

I wonder how bargainaccessories.com will approach this when they realise that somebody is purporting to be them?!?!?!?!

You simply refuse to understand... bargainaccessories.co.uk is owned by

Forester Ltd.
Nevis
KN 001

www.bargainaccessories.com is owned by

Stefan Schinzinger
San Leandro

You have www.barginaccessories.com/

So if if you pass yourself off as another company you break the law....

My website is called Bargin Accessories. I was told by this forum to change my name and spell it right to bargain Accessories - so i did!

I am not passing myself off as another company and i do know that bargainaccessories.com and .co.uk is already taken.

I have just brought a new URL

ok so forget everything already mentioned.

TWO PROBLEMS

firstly nobody can find your website except a few friends on facebook....

Even when they do why would they buy from you your not even cheap?

take for example the apple ipad screen protectors, your selling it for £3.99 & a quick search on ebay & I can find it for £2.78 with free delivery....

If you can afford to sell it for £2.78 which I would be surprised at then forget the website & sell on ebay all the marketing is already done for you.....

looking much better and the url is a better idea. I would consider changing the logo though, its way to small, you'd be surprised how many zen cart sites look the same, but at least if your logo stands out, returning users can identify your site at a glance.

I agree with owas, looks a little better and the domain is certainly a great improvement.

I would seek expert advice on site design.

Random points that can help build sales (apologies if some have already been mentioned):-

  • put your phone number somewhere in the "header" area of your website - make it clearly visible. Adds to the trust factor.
  • IF possible, offer free shipping. Many people have become untrustworthy when it comes to shipping costs as many etailers have tried to offer "cheap" prices by building the cost into shipping. In my opinion it's better to build the shipping cost a little bit into your product prices, and offer free shipping as a selling point - shoppers are more likely to trust you as your pricing is transparent and simple.
  • register your domain for 10 years or max allowed - makes the search engines trust your domain a bit more
  • get your site reviewed/listed in Yahoo! directory / business.com / botw.org - gives your site authority with search engines
  • good product photos - close up shots etc
  • run a blog on your site - gives a first-person voice to your site and you'll look more "real" compared to the cookie-cutter competition who only brochure-talk
  • offer money-back guarantees

1. You could start by using Google Shopping - Its quick, easy and FREE to submit your product feed. You will start to attract relevant traffic within a couple of days. I would post a link but I cant at the moment

2. Make sure you have at least 10 products in mind that you want to sell - these should be high margin but really competitively priced and should be the focus of your next 6-12months. Do some price checks on the internet, to make sure you are 'spot on' on price. They should start you off and start to build on your reputation once you start to sell them.

3. You also need to optimise for organic search engine results which are the non sponsored listings you find in google, yahoo and bing - you should be optimising the same 10 products that you chose as your 10 key products above - Do some keyword research using one of the many tools available online (such as Googles KeyWord Tool) - Be careful when you select your keywords because if you pick highly competitive words you stand very little chance reaching first page for these terms.

4. Make sure you are tracking everything using an Analytics package such as Google Analytics (this is FREE to use) - because all the work above with be in vain if you don't know what impact its having on your website.

5. Grow an client email database from the start and use this to stay in touch with your customers

In summary there are loads of things you can do to ensure you start making money on your website, with these just being a few,

I hope this helps, Good luck

PS - I would advise getting a better logo made for your website

Paul
