Hi guys,
I have just started an internship for a small computer shop based in the South West, the owner is interested in getting into the mobile phone market and has a few odd handsets and pay as you go SIM cards, as well as chargers. However what he is really interested in is selling contracts with new phones. I have tried to find out how to get into contact with mobile companies however it seems to be extremely difficult to get hold of anyone to discuss this with. I would really appreciate any advice or knowledge which people have regarding selling contracts, and whether this would be a worthwhile direction for the shop to take?

As a distibutor of Utility Warehouse, I sell mobiles and get commission for that. could this be the route you are looking for. No stock to hold, but a service to offer.
If you would like to know more please pm me.

Best wishes

Avril:)

You need to find a company who will sell on airtime/connections to you, as you are a new small business you will not be able to directly sell on the networks products, find what is sometimes called a 'sub dealer' who you can use to connect up with.

I would never recommend getting into this, use to work for a company who dealt with B2B mobile phone selling, majorly competitive and cut throat,

Cheers guys this is all really helpful, I'm still floundering around a bit on how to find dealers, Avenir Telecom looks good but seems to be more of a service than just a direct link to selling contracts. Does anyone know if there is any kind of list for dealers?

Cheers

Hi Avril, the site isn't letting me PM you (some problem with the registration process), I would be interested in knowing more as I'm trying to gather as much information about this as I can, is there another way that I can contact you?

Cheers

Avenir are airtime service providers. Phone them and ask for a number for your local rep.
