Mentions and alerts

Hi,

Should I get an email on any alerts? I have been mentioned in a couple of posts but am not aware of it, until I get on the forum?

Would be good to get an email alert so I can jump on any mentions asap.

Yes you would receive email notifications, if you have enabled to option to receive emails in your profile .

I get alerts on replies to threads I've posted on and watching, but not mentions.

Is there a separate setting somewhere I have missed?

You should see a tick box in Notifications in your profile for being notified if someone tags you in a post.

OK I'm lost Have spent ages trying to find the notifications option and have no idea!

All I have found is the alert preferences - is this the same? If so I have the box ticked to get alerts for mentions, but still don't get any.

Click on your profile should bring up a big long menu down right had side of your screen then under settings about half way down your see notification preferences click on that and you get a whole load of options

I must be an idiot??

I go into "MY ACCOUNT" and down the left side get the following options:

• SETTINGS
  • Personal Details
  • Signature
  • Contact Details
  • Privacy
  • Preferences
  • Alert Preferences
  • People You Follow
  • People You Ignore
  • Memberships
  • External Accounts
  • Password
  • Mailing List

Been through them all and can't find notifications under any of them.......(Disclaimer.....my wife always says I can't see something that is right in front of me )

Yep - every box ticked in there!

If i click on my profile in top right of the forum - I get this:

When you go on yours does it show Alert Preferences or Notification Preferences - perhaps it something to do with Member types?
