Marketing Overseas?

Tools and needed promotions for working overseas marketing is sometimes hard to come by when your new to the game. I have been working the midwest U.S. for quite sometime in the music industry however working in London via internet and through my London bands is an alien world for me. I am very interested in trying to build up my bank of knowledge on key aspects or little tid bits of information that may assist me in getting things done in a more efficient manner. The question I have asked myself is should I or would I benefit from having a base in London where I can actually have a person handle all the directives for the Uk? Or is that a waste of time and money getting it started when I might be better off doing it all myself? Any feed back on this would be well welcomed. I am positive I may get all sorts of response good and bad and I am thankful for all of it. I am new to this style of format it is not my typical usage on the internet, but it seems very exciting and interesting to me.
Looking forward to working this avenue and hopefully adjusting to new surroundings.
