Since 2018 i have been developing a product for the home /leisure /garden sector, it has a good following now and great reviews we have a website and i at last understand how the seo and web based sales works (i'm an engineer not a marketeer) , we also have a number of cistomers from local companies who also buy our other services, year on year we have made profit, this year, well since december we have had a disatrous few months although May is back up to were it should be, all our money is invested and current cash flow is an issue, im spending too much time looking at how we pay the bills rather than selling and further developing the product . We have around 400k machinery finance some are halfway through, and i have around 90k in short term loans with a PG, this was a mistake as we are back near where we were in Jan when i need the cash injection. We did around 700k in the last financial year but the poor last few months is probably due to poor timing to develop the new website as i also decided to upgrade all of the products, we suffered becasue of this. So are investors avaiable , i'm not interested in another loan but would willing to give a generous share for a substantial investment where the investor also has a say in the direction of the business. An online retailer would be superb. Ideas anyone?

    Welcome to UKBF.

What are your yearly net profits been from 2018?

The share of the business you would be initially offering to an investor is currently at a 'loss'. This is not enticing for an investor.

Do you have any IP related to your product? If so, then licensing may be a way to move forward.

Have you spoken to your accountant and has he/she offered any suggestions?

Average net profit over 120k from 2018.
The advice from my accountamt is tough it out, and get by without an investor, he says im creatimg a long term problem for a short term fix. His take on it is that i own the brand, not the company, even if my company didnt survive the next uear i could get made pretty easily. I think we are having our first bad time were weve had a couple of bad months and im needing to plan and forecast money in and money out, same as most busineses i guess, webe been spoilt by having an easier time than most.

Have you done this? Have you modelled it with better and worse than expected sales?

Without this info how do you know how much cash you need?
If the trend continued based on last month and same period last year we wont need any funding, however, i'm concious we have no cash buffer like we had before and normally have a 'spare' 50k in the bank that we dont touch, we bought new, but needed machinery in december that wiped out our buffer. I've spoken to one or two people over the weekend who are willing to help, however i think im probably after more of a partnership where someone can bring their skills in and move us forward with regards to selling and marketing, the guys who showed an interest just want to buy a share, which doesnt really help our plan going forward.

First, congratulations on being streets ahead of most of the 'need an investor' posts on here!

You've somewhat answered my initial question - which was, do you really need an investor on board, or are you just knee-jerking? Investors can bring much value over and above money, but it is business relationship, not just a transaction.

From your posts, it seems to me like you need some consultancy from someone whose expertise is aligned with your goals.

Before that, and kind of echoing the projections thing, have you taken a good, hard look at your current costs and resources? It's surprising how much cash businesses can have down the back of the sofa.

As someone who earns a living getting people into debt - I'm inclined to agree that more debt isn't appropriate- but releasing cash from assets (business or personal) might be

I am interested although, i dont know anything about retail marketing or very litle and cant fully function as a investor right now. I am able and aware of marketing strategies and lead generation, cold outreach, gave trainings and also have a track record in business, already setting it up under a different law in the Netherlands now have been top producer in my former company that i worked in and frenchised small scale. Also able to analyse. And have extra ordinary routes as sun tzu says to find way to increase capital exponentially maybe with some help because i made 150.000 € in 2 weeks with 300 euros thats 42.000 % profit but can make it steady into every month.

Willing to look at how to problem solve and make it smoother filled funnels in custommers etc. If both parties ofcourse have a win win situation.

    Best of regards
