Looking for an investor in London

Hey,

I am an entrepreneur looking for some for investors or should I say business angels in London to invest in my new business idea. I am finding it very hard to find business angels as they usually keep a low profile, I have had a look at quite a few business angel networks but they don’t tempt me.

This maybe because they charge up to £6,000 just to look at your business plan to get it so called ‘Investor ready’ even though your business plan maybe ready and then charge around 5% of the total funding raised. Also there is a lot of legal paperwork involved with BAN’s, which I think puts off a lot of business angels.

This business proposition is for a new café business in the City of London with something extra to offer than the average café with a forecast of very high growth as nothing of this type has been thought of or done before. I will not discuss this idea anymore on the website. An initial investment £185,000 will be needed and thus most likely more than one investor will be needed.

Ideally I would like investors to be situated in London and experienced in the café or hospitality trade as it would be good if they brought along their expertise and contacts to the new business.

I have a complete business plan. Please PM or email me on [email protected] me if you are interested. If not could you tell me where the best place is to look for investors other than BAN’s.

Thank you

I think that the registration fee for most BANs is actually lower than you assume but never mind. As it is the best way to get in front of a group of investors legally you are the one losing out.
I hope that you are making approaches in accordance with the FSM Acts as if not you could be exposing yourself to prosecution by the FSA?
As there are hundreds of cafes in the City of London, it is very hard to see one (except one with lap dancing perhaps) that would be particularly novel or attractive to investors. At the end of the day, it is location that counts for this type of business and at City rents, that makes a cafe a very hard proposition to equate.
Good luck anyway.
