Link Metro

I exchange links with other sites on Link Metro and added a basic HTML page at the bottom of my front page with them on. The majority were related to my site, although a couple (probably about 5) werent. Could this have been the cause of my drop in page rank? I have two link sections, one that operates through my mambo and the Link Metro which I preferred to keep seperate because of the way you have to add links!

I use Link Metro too and currently have about 30+ new requests to plough through, however, I manually add the ones I think would be appropriate to my link pages/site and have chosen to keep it as part of the main framework of my site, rather than have a 'bolt on' automatically updated link page. I don't know if this makes any difference, but I just prefer to be more in control of the links that are added and the layout/format, even though more work is involved. During the recent Google reshuffle my page rank went up.

I am sure there are many experts who can answer your question in detail, but from my point of view Link Metro didn't have a detrimental effect.

I am an advanced member at linkmetro.com and it does not automatically fill your directory. You have to approve or reject each and every site. The beauty is, the links are placed simply by the click of a button. See http://www.ukshopsnet.co.uk/links/ that is my links page, from admin I have full control over categories, sub-categories etc, I can hide and delete links, I can also check backlinks. I can do all this either at my own site, or from within the linkmetro website itself. It is fantastic!

Take care in making your choices though, try to keep on topic and make sure the sites are of good quality first before linking with them. I believe that sites ACTIVELY using linkmetro will eventually gain good google PR and the benefits will be passed on in the future. It is for this reason I will exchange links with sites that are new or have low google PR.

People have any thoughts on that?? at what point do you link? have foresight and expect linkpartners websites to become more established and popular, OR, only link with sites that have page rank now??
