Kaltz public sector directory.

Has anyone ever advertised in Kaltz business directory or used their email lists for marketing purposes - and if so was it at all effective at generating leads

(it is aimed at public sector procurement departments and that is a sector we work with but want to broaden our usage)

    In haven't used Kaltz but I have used others - For us we've never seen any dramatic results from any online directory, they usually make claims about rocketing your SEO but that doesn't really work as well as they will try to convince you. It's perhaps worth testing it out as a trial if you can agree a decent rate, but I wouldn't expect miracles.

    Hi, This is an interesting question for me as I received calls from them this month!

    It was a call I received and didn't have time to dig into the details so told them to call me back and I investigated their company presence online.

    Although I saw lots of information not much in terms of credibility in terms of trust signals. When they called me back I asked some tangible names they worked with or could show me. They said they would call me back in a few minutes and haven't called since, despite calling many times prior.
    Don't be too hasty is my advice, I can't say if they are credible or not, but I had some signals from them that were to deal with caution.

    Exactly hat we have done - tell them a organisation we deal with and ask them to tell us who they think the decision makers are so we can compare with our reality - again no call back yet

    We are in our third year advertising for our ground investigation services in the Local Government Procurement Directory via Kaltz.
    As far as I am aware, we have received enquiries from three new potential Clients as a result of the advert which lead on to two actual jobs, the Gross Profit for which was many times greater than the cost of the advert (£675 +VAT for quarter page for each year).
    One of the Clients was Wigan Council. But it was a Property and Planning Consultancy advising Wigan Council who saw the advert.

    I wouldn't expect an advertising company to be able to respond in that way.
    Making the most of advertising is about trust, optimism and going with the flow.

    They sent us 2 at organisations we said we dealt with - one we had no idea who that person was. The other they were at the wrong level, we asked them their knowledge of Kaltz and they replied

    "Hi Ian, No problem. In terms of Kaltz, I have not heard of them but that is not to say that xxxx or any other member of my team may not have heard of them. Let me check and I will come back to you.Regards xxxx"

    Awaiting that update - interesting to hear you have had some success however

    I wouldn't expect Kaltz to have specific links with individuals in procurement departments because it is not those individuals who initiate or liaise with Kaltz and the Directory.

    Kaltz don't need to know a procurer to be able to supply a Directory at a high level.

    Like I say, just go with the flow! :)
