Hi All,

We are looking to start in the property investment field and need some advice with doing it as a joint venture.

One party will be investing more than the other, we really need advice on what is needed for the set up and legal process. Should we open a Ltd company? Should we open a trustee account? Also what about contracts?

As above you need to get this off on the right foot from the start get some proper financial / tax and legal advice on the structure.

A simple google one the topic comparing the various structures will give you an idea of the questions you need to be asking your accountant and legal advisor.

From experience, many start with either an LLP or Ltd company to manage liability and taxation. Draft a joint venture agreement that details capital contribution, management responsibilities, profit distribution, and exit strategy. Trustee accounts can be used, but legal clarity is more critical.
