Is anybody considering closing for the winter?

Many hospitality businesses could be forced to close until the spring as rising energy costs mean they can’t afford to stay open. Outspoken business leaders have said that ‘mothballing’ – which means closing for winter – will be cheaper than remaining open for many businesses.

The government has recently announced an energy support package, which comes into effect on October 1st. This will set the price at £211 per megawatt-hour (MWh) for electricity and £75 per MWh for gas. However, the exact figures for the supported price will be confirmed on 30th September.

Do you think the government’s support package goes far enough?
Does the support last long enough?
Are you considering ‘mothballing’ for winter?
