For all the people that bank with HSBC and use/rely on their internet banking I would like to forewarn people based on a clients experience over the last 4 days.

As many who bank with HSBC will have been informed they are changing their security arrangements and a new device that generates a security number is being rolled out to the banks intenet banking clients.

The biggest problem is that as soon as they send the security device out(Friday in our case) they prevent users from accessing intenet banking so if your post is lost, delayed or goes elsewhere (as in this case as we are set as the primary users for our client but they still sent our security device to the clients).

Meanwhile we have salaries to pay, suppliers to pay and credit control to undertake.

Their interim solution is to phone up the local business manager who will carry out the transactions on our behalf

looks like many of us could have fun during this roll out!
