Hi
Several years ago I submitted incorrect figures to HMRC for corporation tax (my fault)
The figures showed my company made a profit for the year, and I subsequently paid £2690 in Corporation tax because this is what my figures showed.
Later I found out the company made a loss for the year, and shouldnt have paid any CT.
I filed a claim with HMRC to and they paid back only a percentage of the amount
Should they not pay back the whole £2690 that was paid?
I think they paid back around 20-30%. I questioned this and they said its correct - they only pay a percentage back
Maybe I'm being stupid, a very real possibility. But I would have thought they pay back all overpaid CT for the year.
thanks!
