How do I add telephone orders in Magento?

Just added MOTO merchant number to Sage Pay and can now accept telephone orders. But, i'm not sure how to enter these these into the admin of my Magento site.

Anyone know?

Yes there is a whole create order system built into the admin

its easy enough to use

I have tried going to

sales > orders > create new order

but it comes up with an error message: "Payment method is not available"

Basically there's no payment option for me to select at the back-end.

???

Has it been configured incorrectly??

Any advice would be gratefully received.

sounds like there is a configuration issue yeah

if you go to settings and set the configuration scope to global what payment methods are enabled?

Only two:

- Zero subtotal checkout
- Sage Pay

Should there be more? And, if I were to add more, does this mean they appear on the front-end site too?

its tricky without being able to actually see the admin tbh

I know that its very easy to do this so there must be something weird in your configuration that is preventing it. AFAIK a default install will let you input phone orders straight away so something has happened on yours to prevent it, exactly what though I'm not sure.

I fixed it for me by switching on cheque payment method temorarily when creating the order.

Don't you worry about it appearing on the front end - even temporarily?

I have Cheque Payment enabled on the website (not Magento) and in my experience, very, very few people ever select this. I just send them and email telling them that the goods won't be sent out until the payment arrives. The cheque is always appears in the post. These are people who feel safer using cheques.

Soon cheques will no longer exist. As it is if a customer places an order, even in the few seconds when this payment method is available, then I will jump with joy. Then e-mail the customer and ask for the money.
