Hello guys,

I have decided I would like some SEO training to try and grow our traffic etc. I already have a good understanding of SEO as we have been doing it in-house ourselves for 3 years+ and get a reasonable amount of traffic. With this is mind, instead of going on a course that covers the basics and sitting in a room with 20 other people, I would like to find some E-commerce specific 1-to-1 training where I can go to someone or they can come to me for a week and specifically train me about my website and how to increase it's traffic.

If anyone could point me in the direction, please let me know? Maybe one of you SEO's fancies doing a weeks training work?

Thank you

It's not a service we personally offer and I don't know anyone who does but a week seems like a lot of time in my opinion.

Normally 1 day reviewing everything and the next day agreeing a strategy. Can't see you would need more than that.

It's the implementation that can take some time, especially if there is a lot of content required to be added or if a developer needs to get involoved to make changes to the site for SEO or conversion improvements.

Ecommerce sites are great to work on because simple changes can often yield quite significant conversion improvements.

Whoever you use just make sure they have demonstrable experience in optimising ecommerce sites for organic search and especially in terms of conversion rate optimisation.

Let me know if you need some ideas of questions to ask when choosing someone as it's quite easy to spot those who think they know what they are doing compared to those who do a good talk!

Nodding in agreement to those who have recommended Tin, but not just for the course, because he does 1-to-1 training as well. You won't find anyone more skilled at on-page (in particular) than Tin at TinSoldierDesign.co.uk.

However, although you've got a handle on the basics, I'd bet you a Pound to a Pence that you'll learn some totally new stuff in that course. I'm still amazed that he gives away those kind of trade secrets (how to do on-page like a pro) for the price of the course.

The ideal scenario would be someone taking the course then booking 2-3 days of follow-up in which the lessons learned are applied to the actual site you're working on. There's a lot learn and do, despite a week sounding like a long time.

Note: I'm making £0.00 by making the above statements and the same holds true of whether or not you buy the course.
