Help needed with a graphic design job description

Depends what skills you require them to have but I'd imagine a good knowledge of illustrator and photoshop would be the kind of skills you would be looking for

Thanks so much Dave. This is really helpful and has given me a couple of ideas for my job description but I do have a bog standard one like this and wondered if there was anyone out there doing things differently? Or if any designers have responded to a job description because it came from a different slant. We're not getting a great response and want to try avoid using and agency if possible just for cost reasons. Any clever ideas would be great! Thanks again

have a competition on facebook (make it go viral , shares, all that) something along the lines of "who can produce the best design for a particular thing" with the promise of an interview for the best five. This way you will get folks who may feel they are underqualified but also posses exceptional graphic design abilities. Also speak to universities, some people are just born to be graphics designers and the lecturers spot them early on

I used to work in recruitment (for developers and designers) and I found that talking about the company and explaining why it is a great place to work and trying to avoid a list of daily tasks was really useful and tended to get the interest of pretty special and talented people.
