Help needed - really confused

Hi everyone,

Firstly, I hope everyone and their families are safe.

I am so confused by this whole coronavirus thing that I really need some advice.

I am a full time employee in the Electronics industry and we are still currently open, however I'm not sure for how long. This job pays the bills and supports my family.

For the past six years or so I have been running an e-commerce website selling pretty unique items (filmposters) and these can be called a 'luxury', especially in times like this. I am a sole trader.

Business has bombed, i was getting constant sales but since the outbreak have had one in a month. Recent correspondence with my regular buyers have confirmed that they are tightening their spending habits and who can blame them really.

What I usually do with this business is try and turn the stock over pretty quickly for a profit, buy a more expensive item with that money and continue up the tree so to speak.

However with no Ebay or e-commerce sales and with host fees, server fees, ebay fees, marketing fees I'm pretty concerned, especially how we don't know how long this will go on for.

What can I do? Is there any grant I can claim to keep this business going.

Your help is much appreciated.

Thankyou

No there is no support as you are in fulltime employment and the online business is not eligible for a grant. Obviously, with no sales Ebay etc will have no fees to pay. But I would continue to keep your website active for when normal times return. Maybe look into turning your posters into digital downloads so you keep the originals?

You do have to pay listing fees.
