hello Just Joined Today need advice

Hi All,

My name is Raj and I recently gave up a full time professional career to start my own business.

I have joined an established organisation as an independant distributor of high quality aloe vera based products.

The business is going well, but I find the isolation of working on my own from home frustrating at times. What do you guys do to keep the motivation high?

Any advice on the above and effective marketing on the web would be most greatly appreciated, as would some constructive feedback on my websites, www.dreamachievers.co.uk, www.aloepeople.co.uk
Also if anyone can recommend good merchant account providers that would really help.

Hi Raj and welcome

I'll leave the website critique to others who are vastly more qualified.

In terms of running a business alone it can often be frustrating, however the more clients you get the more people with differing aspects and interesting slants on life and business you tend to find.

From my perspective I'm basing my whole business on being an integral part of my clients business, I try to get to know it inside out, forge relationships and come onto the forums for moral support from like minded people

Hi Raj,
Working from home is a big double edged sword when starting your own business. You get the freedom and flexability along with reduced running costs, then again you get the distractions from others or without them the lonelieness.

Forums like these are a good place to interact, along with keeping in touch with customers, suppliers and other work contacts.

Thanks guys for the advice so far. You're right interacting with customers etc is great, its the slack periods when I start to feel like climbing the walls, but hey I guess I've found this forum now, so thats a good thing.

Going to BNI and local business clubs is great for motivation and support.

I agree, if you ask around you will find lots of local business networking groups where you can both expand your network of potential contacts and just spend some time with other people!

A lot of self employed people use them for this dual purpose.

Well done on going with aloe vera - why don't you take up growing the plants so that you'll know the product from the inside out? A project!

I don't like your dreamachievers site - but then I don't like any sites like that :? One glaring error on the other site is that suppliments is actually spelled supplements! Otherwise fine.

I agree with Thais on the sites, though presumably as its network marketing you don't actually get much say in it?

Going back to the original question, I would have thought you would need to be out meeting people most of the time in this business?

PS nothing against FLP I have used the products and know other distributors - one did very well at BNI
