GDPR Delete my Account

How do I completely remove my account and my details deleted from this forum? I’ve followed the guidance here:

www ukbusinessforum co uk pages/delete-my-account/

It’s now been well over a month and I’ve had no confirmation email and obviously being able to post this means it’s not happened.

Do I need to report this to the ICO or is it usually better to start some sort of legal action? Curious how other people handle these types of things.

Good morning

I've had a look through our ticketing system and I cannot see a request from you to have your account removed. I've searched based on your current username and your current email address.

If you're able to message me privately here on UKBF with either your ticket number or the email address you used to contact us, I can follow up on this.

I'm not sure what you mean about ticketing system. The instructions say:

Under the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) you can put in a request for your data to be deleted at any time.

When we delete your account, we'll delete all information you entered during our registration process, as well as anything you added to your profile at a later date. This includes:

• first and last name
• job role
• company name
• industry
• employee count

With your posts on site, things work a little differently. Since forum software doesn't come with a "delete all" function for posts, we'll manually edit out any personal, sensitive or identifiable information you've posted. We define personal information as anything that might identify you or your business, such as:

• username (this will be anonymised)
• name
• company name
• location
• names of employees or colleagues
• names of competitors
• specific numbers (for example, turnover or salaries)

While the skeleton of your post will remain (ensuring the thread still makes sense for anyone reading in future), the content will be anonymised and won't surface if someone searches for you on Google.

We'll try to complete your request as quickly as possible, but please bear in mind that it does take time and we want to be thorough.

To put in a request, please email [email protected].

Per these instructions I sent a request on Wed 14/12/2022 15:04 to the email as stated with the subject "GDPR Account Deletion Request".

My email address is the one associated with my account username.

I'm not sure what you mean about ticketing system. The instructions say:
All emails sent to the address "[email protected]" get added to our support ticketing system so that myself and the rest of the support team can action requests and keep a record of our activities.

I can see no record of any email sent by yourself to that address including looking at our deletion logs and spam catcher.

If you're able to raise a ticket using the below portal, I can arrange to have your account deleted first thing on Monday:
