Hiya...

Just would like to notify you all of something i read from an RSS feed on www.broadbandhub.co.uk - the place to find your broadband deal! ..(But a little out of date ;-( )

http://matrixweb.org/ - run by a dude call Memphis ...is offering free web hosting ( which includes PHP, MYSQL etc .... )

Check out the forum rules and read the topic on requesting free web space!

The more posts you make the more web space and bandwidth you are allocated - great idea to encourage a forum to gain momentum ...seen a few of these pop up lately.

I signed up a couple of days ago, and I expect many people will be able learn stuff regarding Web dev, design and SEO.

I don’t think I would host a business site on free space - but a great place to run a hobby website.

Handy to play with, thanks for the pointer. Most of the ISPs provide some web space for their customers but these are often not very useful with poor services (no php, no mysql etc) so difficult to use for testing purposes.

kyber, don't you have your own apache server installed on your computer?. I've seen some of those offers before, and they've differed greatly in quality, some forcing advert code, other with servers with 12% uptime (ok, thats going a bit far). I'd be interested to hear how you get on with this one though.

I have my own linux server farm and a couple of TB of disk space for my hobbies. I recently threw out some old Sun Sparcs I had hanging around. I use Apache and other web servers. I also have access to various resources around IBM as I am in a number of technical and business groups. Sadly I have little time to play at the moment.

I was more commenting with an SMB hat on for the benefit of this community rather than me personally.
